L'Institut National de Recherche Biomédicale (INRB) sert de Laboratoire National de Recherche Biomédicale pour le Ministère de la Santé, Hygiène et Prévoyance sociale de la République Démocratique du Congo (RDC). Ses départements ont pour missions : la réalisation d'analyses médicales et biologiques, la recherche appliquée et translationnelle, la surveillance des maladies transmissibles et la promotion de la croissance et du développement professionnels.

L’INRB a été inauguré le 08 décembre 1984 par le Président François Mittérand et le Premier Commissaire d’Etat Kengo wa Dondo. Il est donc le fruit de la coopération Franco-Congolaise. Il est pour nous le symbole de durabilité d’un projet de coopération qui, après le départ des coopérants, connait un rayonnement national et international.
